Top 10 Myrtle Beach Restaurants for 2022

I recently polled thousands of fans of my Myrtle Beach Mysteries by asking them what their favorite restaurant is along the Grand Strand. We compiled the results and here are the top 10 favorite Myrtle Beach Restaurants for 2022. The #1 pick was a surprise to me.

#1 – Dead Dog Saloon

The local favorite. Sprawling waterfront tavern serving bar food & seafood favorites, with live music & outdoor seating. Walk inside, and you’ll see where the restaurant gets its name.

#2 – Sea Captain’s House

Traditional seafood favorites served in a bustling yet cozy 1930s cottage overlooking the ocean. This one gets a good mention in the third book in the series, Death on the Golden Mile.

#3 – Dagwood’s

A local chain of sandwich shops selling jumbo-size sandwiches. They will soon have a location in North Myrtle Beach.

#4 – Angelo’s

This family-friendly Italian restaurant is popular for its steaks, pasta & all-you-can-eat buffet.

#5 – Hot Fish Club

Local seafood in a mellow creekside restaurant/nightlife spot with an open-air gazebo & live music.

#6 – Flamingo Grill

Festive, upmarket chophouse mainstay, with ample seafood selection, served in an art deco setting.

#7 – Damon’s

Bar & restaurant chain serving prime rib, steaks & other pub standards in a sports-themed setting. You can get a free meal on your birthday (which I have done before).

#8 – River City Cafe

World-famous burgers and lots of other awesome plates to satisfy even the biggest hunger. (One of my favorites for burgers)

#9 – Golden Egg

Homey pick dishing up hearty plates of breakfast eats plus lunch items such as sandwiches & burgers.

#10 – Conch Cafe

Relaxed beachfront cafe offering a simple menu of seafood & steak plus sandwiches, soups & salads.

These were the favorites, as voted upon by my readers. Mentioning or using local restaurants is something I like to do in my books. I’ve had readers tell me they’ve discovered new places from reading the books. I’ve been to a few of the restaurants above. There are a few in my books.

Are there any restaurants you feel was left off the list? Let me know in the comments below.
