Thank you to the 100+ who joined me, Kelly Capriotti Burton, and Elvis at the launch party for Death of a Legend at the Legends Theater this past weekend. The event was a smash hit with everyone.
This was such a fun book to write. There are new characters added to the main cast, not just suspects.
One of the new characters, a seven-year-old named Timmy, is based on my son. Anytime Timmy starts a conversation in the book with “Did you know?” and follows it with some random fact, those are things that my son told me that I would write down on a list as he said them because, truth be told, he taught me things.
Timmy’s mom is named Lynn. She is the older sister of now former police detective Gina Gomez. She plays a role in this book.
If you’ve read Myrtle Beach Burns, then you know some stuff went down at the end of it, and Clark had to take a break from Myrtle Beach. He stayed in the Caribbean for nine months while he recovered emotionally and Gomez recovered physically.
At the start of Death of a Legend, they return to Myrtle Beach to start their new lives. They take Lynn to a show at Legends Theater since she’s a huge Dolly Parton fan to watch an impersonator perform her hits.
Then something goes terribly wrong, putting Clark Thomas and Gomez squarely in the middle of it.
