Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt novels are one series that led me to start reading when I was a teenager and I continue to be drawn back to them.
They follow a formula that inspires my writing.
Odessa Sea did not grab my attention from the start like others in this series. I wasn’t captivated by the “prize” at the center of Pitt and Company’s quest, nor the antagonist’s motivations.
That said, there is still plenty of action, adventure, and mystery and a rather surprising (for Cussler) ending for one of the baddies.
Still vintage Cussler. Definitely recommend.
